Poll: Trudeau is using social media effectively to get news coverage

A new Signal PR poll conducted by its partner firm Nanos Research shows that a strong majority of the public believe that Justin Trudeau has been successfully using social media like Twitter and Facebook to get coverage in the news.

Almost six in ten (58%) of the 1,000 people surveyed stated that Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau is ‘effective’ or ‘somewhat effective’ at using social media to get news coverage. Specifically, twenty-five percent (25%) of respondents said that Trudeau has been ‘effective’ at using social media to get news coverage, while a third (33%) felt he has been ‘somewhat effective.’ Six percent (6%) felt that he has been ‘somewhat not effective,’ while nine percent (9%) said he has been ‘ineffective.’ Twenty-seven percent (27%) were ‘unsure.’

Nanos conducted the RDD dual frame (land- and cell-lines) random telephone poll of 1,000 Canadians, 18 years of age or older, between October 27th to 30th 2016 as part of an omnibus survey.

The margin of error for a random survey of 1,000 Canadians is ±3.1 percentage points, 19 times out of 20.
